About Us

"I give you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, so you also must love each other.”

John 13:34

Who we are

We all worship the same God, but every church is unique.  Not every church will be right for every person, but maybe our church is right for you.  Here are the characteristics that make Ridgefield United Methodist Church special:

We are ... multi-generational

We are most at home when we are all together, great-grandparents, brand new babies and everyone in between.  We find strength and encouragement from people in different stages of life.  From World War II vets to toddlers dancing in the aisle, we need each other.

We are ... small town suburban

Ridgefield is in transition from a small farming community to a bustling suburb of Vancouver and Portland.  We have life-long residents and people who have just moved in.  Our congregation has deep roots, but we are constantly changing.

We are ... traditionally contemporary

Our dynamic praise band leads us in current Christian worship music, but we sing time-honored hymns every Sunday, too.  We have a relaxed worship style, but we use ancient liturgy as we celebrate the sacraments.

A church is more than the sum of its parts.  Above all, our identity as a church comes from God our Creator.  God has called us to be Christ-followers together, and we seek to live out that identity, loving God and neighbor in every way
