Did you know that Ridgefield United Methodist Church supplies food backpacks to over 40 local students every week? Margie Stoner and her team of ladies gave over 6,000 meals to local children this school year! Thinking of children going hungry breaks everyone's hearts, and Margie's team decided to let their broken hearts spur them into action. We are so thankful for their leadership, dedication, compassion and faithfulness.
Margie emptied the cupboards and bank account to see the kids through the end of the school year. Now we have the summer to get ready for next year. You can help by bringing in donations of food or giving money directly to RUMC, memo line "Backpack Program."
Items that are used on a regular basis are:
Canned soup Individual packets of instant oatmeal Peanut Butter
Tuna Individual servings of fruit cups and applesauce
Granola Bars of any kind (individually wrapped)
We can't solve all of the world's problems, but we can stop children from being hungry. Let's do everything we can to support this mission!
