Invitation to Advent - Dec 3 2017
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.
It is no coincidence that, during the darkest time of the year, we celebrate the coming of the light of the world. Our Advent story is full of people who saw just a glimmer of light in a dim world—Joseph who heard God in a dream, the shepherds who saw the angels, the magi who spotted the star—and followed that glimmer to discover Emmanuel, God With Us.
We, too, have known darkness. Our lives are not without burden, worry and fear. And yet, something in us knows that this is not the whole of the story. God has something else for us. In our dark night, a star rises.
We invite you to come with us as we experience an advent of hope. From this Sunday through Epiphany, January 6, we will look for the light, shine it on dark places, and celebrate with joy and gladness! Here is what is happening at church and the ways you can participate in the season of light:
